Tom spearheaded the creation and development of the bustling campus makerspace, a dynamic, stimulating, welcoming space open to all students, faculty, and staff. The SCC Makerspace values equity, social justice, and inclusion to all in the true spirit of an empowering global maker movement and “maker culture.”

Pam loves to help people find the information they need, whether it’s at the research help desk or at Target when people randomly stop to ask questions.
HEATHER HOGAN
Heather is an artist, maker and teacher passionate about modern making techniques and traditional arts and crafts methods. She also teaches web design.
JIM TOWN
Jim Town is a Maker and Computer Science Professor at Sacramento City College. When he isn’t working in the CIS tutoring lab, he is usually building robots that don’t look like robots in the Makerspace.

JUDY COATES PEREZ
Judy Coates Perez has a BFA from Otis College of Art and Design, and is an ardent explorer of the arts, and maker culture. She loves painting, sewing, hand stitching, knitting, designing, making and experimenting while most often using nature as her muse. Known for her mixed-media art quilts incorporating: paints, inks, dyes, printed paper ephemera, as well as stamping and screen printing, she prefers to be involved in the whole process of a project from white fabric to final stitches. As an instructor she loves to light a creative fire in her students and help them learn new techniques and develop the skills they need to bring their ideas to life.
